How To Enroll
Early Childhood Program
Enrollment in the Early Childhood program is decided by the MySchoolDC common lottery. Please complete an application on to be placed on the waitlist for seats on the PK3 or PK4 program for the current school year. Seats will be offered to families on the waitlist on a rolling basis throughout the year as availability permits.

Elementary Program
Enrollment at H.D. Cooke for kindergarten through 5th grade is guaranteed to students who reside within the school boundary. To determine what school your child is assigned to, please enter your address at My School DC School Finder page. If H.D. Cooke is not your assigned school but you wish to enroll as an out of bounds student, you may apply out of bounds using the MySchoolDC.org common lottery.
If you are in our boundary and your student is in grades Kinder - 5th grade, you may enroll by visiting enrolldcps.dc.gov.
How to enroll for 2024-25 School Year!
Step 1: Visit enrolldcps.dc.gov to get started.

Returning families: Use parent portal credentials. If you do not know your credentials, please contact your school.

New families: Create an account.
Step 2: Complete the enrollment packet online.
Step 3: Attach required documentation.

New families: Proof of Age and Proof of Residency documentation.

Returning families: Proof of Residency documentation.
Step 4: Submit!

You will receive a confirmation email once your submission is received, reviewed, and accepted/declined.
If you have been offered a seat at H.D. Cooke, please complete the enrollment forms and return completed forms and supporting documentation to the front office. Be prepared to demonstrate DC residency and, if applicable, in boundary or sibling status. For more information on what documents are required to prove DC residency status, please click here:
